Years 10 – 12

When our students begin their Senior Years journey with the College, they will explore more options available to them for their studies. They will continue to see which subjects and units they will pursue to help them achieve their individual goals. Students will continue with some core subjects and their selected elective subjects. At ۶app, one of our strengths is the breadth of subjects that we can offer our students. We also believe in helping students find the right pathways for themselves, so offer VCE, VET and VCE-VM pathways.

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is typically a two-year program completed when students are studying in Years 11 – 12. Based on the subjects they want to pursue for VCE, this will determine the subjects they will undertake during Year 10 so they gain prior learning experience. It is a recognised qualification for entry into further studies at university or TAFE.

In 2023, the VCE Vocational Major (VCE-VM) replaced the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). Through the VCE-VM program, students participate in an applied learning program that provides students choice and flexibility. This allows students to tailor their learning program to their strengths and vocational aspirations

The Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects offered at our College can also be combined with either VCE or VCE-VM subjects. The VET subjects provide a nationally recognised qualification which can lead students to gain employment or further study at a TAFE institute after graduating from high school. VET subjects can also provide credits towards the calculation of a student’s Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).

During students time at ۶app, they will work collaboratively with their teachers and our Careers team to find suitable pathways for what they aspire to do once they graduate from high school.
